Study on Vehicle Road Simulation Algorithm

Vehicle manufacturers worldwide are increasingly relying on road simulation facilities that put simulated loads and stresses on vehicles and subassemblies in order to shrink development time. Road simulation algorithm is the key point of developing road simulation system. With the rapid progress of computer technology, more complex algorithms can be utilized. First, multi-input exciting method and multi-input multi-output (MIMO) system Hv FRF estimation algorithm are introduced to avoid the drawbacks of single-point exciting method and H1 FRF estimation algorithm. Second, frequency domain drive iteration method is adopted to correct drive signals to make systems real response approaches the expect signals. The algorithm studied is realized in a road simulation system and a real-life test is carried out to simulate the vertical accelerations of rear wheel spindles of a car running on Hainan Proving Ground, China. The convergence rate and simulation accuracy can meet the requirement. It shows that the algorithm is practical.
